The main open plan living space is upstairs, with a lounge area, a modern farm-style kitchen, and a dining area that is effectively surrounded on three sides by windows that reveal the enveloping, rural panorama. The top deck sits alongside this area, where barbecue and outdoor dining furniture invite eating ‘al fresco’ in the warmer weather. While inside, a Coonara wood fire combats chilly weather along with the comfort of carpet underfoot. Another large living room is located downstairs. It has a huge open fire place with a stone hearth and chimney. A group of lounges is arranged around the fire and television. To the side is a separate sitting area perfect for ‘board games’. | Special Features: Walking around the property you will see cattle, horses, kangaroos, lots of birdlife and beautiful hills. Mt Buller ski fields, specifically from Bernside’s front gate to the Horse Hill day car park, is just 45 minutes away. The Delatite River (turn right at front gate) is 5 minutes away and offers swimming, trout fishing and invigorating walks. The Howqua River (turn left at front gate) is 10 minutes away. Lake Eildon is about 10 minutes away, accessible at Gough’s Bay (turn right at the front gate) or Macs Cove (turn left at the front gate) There are wineries nearby – our favourite is Kinlock – which is not 10 minutes away (turn right at the front gate, travel 2.5 kms towards Mansfield and then take a right at Chappel Hill Rd (at the bottom of the hill). Follow the signs once you’ve turned. Gough’s Bay has a general store and petrol station. |
